Meet the candidates Oct. 11.

WALKERVILLE — With the November election approaching, Walkerville Thrives is sponsoring a “Meet the Candidates” event Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the Walkerville Wesleyan Church gymnasium, located at 144 S. Hamon St.

The public is cordially invited. Also, plan on having dinner during the Walkerville Wesleyan Church’s Community Dinner at 6 p.m. the same night.

All Candidates in the November election are invited to attend. Each candidate in a contested race will be given at least five minutes to talk about their qualifications and the major issue they feel the winner will face. They are all invited to the community dinner and to stay after the program to chat informally with voters. All candidates may also set up tables, especially if they cannot attend. The cost of the dinner is $5 a person. Proceeds fund the certified kitchen expenses and the local food bank.
