MSP to host citizens’ academy.

HART — The Hart post of the Michigan State Police is pleased to announce that a Citizens’ Academy will begin Oct. 10 and run through Nov. 28.

The eight-week academy will give citizens the opportunity to become familiar with the MSP’s mission and operation; understand the procedures troopers follow; increase their awareness of law enforcement’s role in the community; and get to know the Hart post’s personnel.

The academy will meet at the Hart post on Monday evenings from 6-8 p.m. A graduation ceremony will take place Nov. 28. Those who are interested in participating should contact Trooper Dan Thomas at 231-873-2171 or via email at thomasd20@michigangov to receive an application.
