Hesperia couple killed in crash.

DALTON TOWNSHIP, (Muskegon County) — Larry Junior Drake, 60, and Wanda Faye Drake, 53, of Hesperia were killed Tuesday, Sept. 6, on US 31 near Lakewood Road when the minivan they were traveling in blew a tire while passing a semi.

Larry Drake, who was driving the minivan, and Wanda Drake, who was a front-seat passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The back-seat passenger, Wanda Foster, 35, also of Hesperia is hospitalized in critical condition.

All three were wearing seat belts. The minivan was northbound on US 31 at approximately 1 p.m. when the back driver’s side tire blew while passing a semi, according to police. The minivan went into the median, rolling several times and then wrapped around a tree.

Alcohol, drugs, speed and distracted driving were not factors in the crash, according to police.
