HART — The following proceedings recently took place in 78th District Court:
Misdemeanor arraignments
– Eduardo Yanez Silva, 29, of 2275 Shelby Rd., Shelby; Aug. 20; Hesperia Police Department; operating while intoxicated. Pretrial: Sept. 20 at 2:30 p.m. Bail: $3,500/cash/surety/10 percent.
– Ralph James Hilton, 61, of 7470 Northern Dr., Pentwater; Oceana County Sheriff’s Office: drugs/alcohol consumption by minors – allowing on premises. Pretrial: Sept. 13 at 10:30 a.m. Bail: $1,000/cash/surety 10 percent.
– Candice Elizabeth Harper, 27, of 551 Goddard, Wyandotte, Michigan; Michigan State Police; second-offense driving while license suspended (DWLS). Pretrial: Sept. 13 at 10:15 a.m. Bail: $5,000/personal.
Sentencings
– Brendan Philip Kim, 26, of 2040 W. Lemoyne St., Apt. B, Chicago, was found guilty Aug. 29 of use of a narcotic or cocaine and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and a $75 fine. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of possession of narcotic or cocaine less than 25 grams was dismissed.
– Jason David Alger, 32, of 8617v Robinhood Dr., Montague, was found guilty Aug. 29 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; outpatient treatment; and $1,040 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.
– Julie Ann Brown, 44, of 1579 Shettler Rd., Norton Shores, was found guilty Aug. 29 of non-sufficient fund check $100 or less and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $711 in fines, costs and restitution.
– Lucas Wade Darling, 38, of 1053 N. Hilltop, Pentwater, pleaded “no contest” Aug. 30 to barking dog and was sentenced to $100 in fines and costs.
– Mathew Martin Allen Stevens, 35, of 4548 N. Comstock Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty of second-offense domestic violence and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; six months probation; may not purchase or possess a firearm; subject to testing, searches and counseling by probation; no alcohol or drugs; no assaultive behavior; no contact with probationers or felons; and $975 in fines and costs. One count of first-degree home invasion and one count of assault and battery were dismissed.
– Mark Raymond Broda, 36, of 5626 Ottawattamie Dr., Pentwater, was found guilty Aug. 29 of improper transport of medical marijuana and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of reckless driving was dismissed.
– Joshua Gutierrez, 17, of 2880 W. Polk Rd., Hart, was found guilty Aug. 29 of operating without security/no insurance and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. He was also found guilty Aug. 29 of unlawful license plate use and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $125 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.
– Samantha Silva, 46, of 5800 7th St., Mears, was found guilty Aug. 29 of operating without security/no insurance and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs.
