HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Morgan James Pearson, 19, of 160 S. East St., Walkerville, was found guilty Aug. 8 of operating a motor vehicle without security/no insurance and sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of driving while license not valid dismissed.

– Clayton Curtis Reginald Perry, 29, of 335 Wallace Ave., Welland, Ontario, Canada, was found guilty Aug. 8 of operating with a high blood alcohol content (BAC) and sentenced to 180 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $1,255 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Rodger Otis Williams, 22, of 16171 Almont Rd., Almont, Michigan, was found guilty Aug. 8 of disorderly person – jostling and sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Restitution is open for 90 days. One count of assault and battery was dismissed.

– Alberto Tejada, Jr., 30, of 571 N. Spencer Rd., Mears, was found guilty Aug. 8 of assault and battery and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs.

– Jesse Shane Lopez, 34, of 314 S. Hart St., Hart, was found guilty July 25 of assault and battery and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; six months probation; may not purchase or possess a firearm; subject to testing, searches and counseling; no alcohol/drugs; no contact with probationers or felons; no assaultive behavior; and $925 in fines and costs.

– Roberto Rosas, 43, of 19 S. State St., Hart, was found guilty April 26 of second-offense OWI and sentenced Aug. 8 to nine days in jail; one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; outpatient treatment; six months probation; may not purchase or possess a firearm; subject to testing, searches and counseling; no alcohol/drugs; no contact with probationers or felons; no assaultive behavior; and $1,815 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of third-offense OWI and one count of operating without a license were dismissed.

– Matthew Allen Lattin, 30, of 70 W. South St., Hesperia, was found guilty Aug. 8 of third-degree retail fraud and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $88 restitution and fines.

– Paul Eric Ellison, 48, of 1696 Sophia Rd., Ravenna, was found guilty Aug. 8 of operating an ORV while impaired and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; ORV operation suspended 90 days; and $615 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of OWI and one count of open alcohol container in a vehicle were dismissed.

– Shawn Ryan Beattie, 30, of 7518 W. 24th St., Fremont, was found guilty Aug. 9 of violation of license restrictions and sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $250 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– James Michael Riggs, 29, of 5826 W. 8th St., Mears, was found guilty Aug. 9 of allowing a person to drive in violation and sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $290 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license suspended (DWLS) was dismissed.

– Rodney Paul Beecham II, 37, of 7429 S. Forest Glen Rd., Rothbury, was found guilty Aug. 9 of DWLS and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Matthew Edward Johnson, 29, of 3525 Miller Rd., Flint, was found guilty Aug. 9 of transporting open intoxicants and sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of DWLS dismissed.

Dismissals

– John Samuel Mackenzie, 54, of 1952 E. River Rd., N. Muskegon, one count of assault and battery dismissed Aug. 8 “on the motion of the court without prejudice,” according to court records.

– Kaid James Brookshire, 20, of 4471 Powell Lane, Kewadin, Michigan, one count of minor in possession of alcohol (MIP) dismissed Aug. 10 without prejudice.
