HART TOWNSHIP — A 59-year-old Shelby man was injured when the 2007 Kawa motorcycle he was riding struck a deer on Oceana Drive south of Star Hill Drive Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 6:30 a.m., according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.

George Michael Isley, who was northbound on Oceana Drive when a deer ran out in front of him, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital following the crash.

“The driver was injured pretty badly,” said Lt. Craig Mast. “He is expected to recover but is pretty banged up.”

Alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash, the report states.
