HART — A 26-year-old Hart man was sentenced to serve 30 days up front of a 90-day discretionary jail term for a conviction of embezzlement – $1,000-$20,000.

Skyler Joseph Villanueva, of 461 E. Main St., Hart, was also ordered to pay restitution of $13,587.07 to the victim. According to his district court file, the former Cargo Gas Station in Hart is the victim in the case.

Judge Anthony A. Monton also imposed two years probation and allowed Villanueva to serve his jail time on the weekends so he can work.

“Being able to maintain my job is most important to me,” said Villanueva, who received credit for one day served in jail.
