HART — A warrant has been issued for a 48-year-old Hart man for domestic violence following an assault Thursday, July 21, at 3:31 a.m. in the 2000 block of Polk Road, according to Hart Police Chief Juan Salazar. The suspect fled the scene on foot prior to the responding officers’ arrival, Salazar said, and police attempted to locate him “most of the night.”

Assisting the Hart Police Department in the search for the suspect were the Hart post of the Michigan State Police, the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office and the Pentwater Police Department, Salazar said. A tracking dog was unavailable to assist in the search, and attempts at locating the suspect by “pinging” his phone were unsuccessful.

The victim received facial injuries in the assault, the chief said.

In a separate incident, MSP troopers arrested a 32-year-old Pentwater man for domestic violence Thursday at 2:50 a.m. in the 4000 block of Wayne Road in Pentwater Township.
