HART — A 17-year-old Hesperia woman was cited by the Hart Police Department for failure to yield right-of-way and no proof of insurance following a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon, July 9, at 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of Polk Road and Oceana Drive, according to Hart Police Chief Juan Salazar.
The teen was traveling north on Oceana Drive when she attempted to turn left onto Polk Road and struck an oncoming southbound vehicle driven by a 46-year-old Hart woman, Salazar said. The 17-year-old suffered a minor head injury and was transported by Oceana County EMS to Lakeshore Hospital in Shelby. The other driver sought her own treatment, the chief said.
Neither vehicle had passengers, and it was not immediately known if the drivers were wearing their seat belts.
