U.S. 31 crash 2A 25-year-old Ludington man driving an Apache Logistics semi truck received only minor “bumps and bruises,” said Oceana County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Craig Mast, who was at the scene. Those who were traveling in the other two cars involved in the crash suffered “life-threatening injuries,” Mast said. Numerous rescue personnel were on scene, and US 31 was shut down in the vicinity of the crash scene. Traffic was backed up for miles on US 31 as motorists were being diverted off the expressway onto the Stony Lake Road off-ramp. Traffic was heavier than normal due to holiday travelers heading home after the long weekend.
