HART — A 27-year-old Twin Lake man was sentenced in 27th Circuit Monday, June 20, to serve 10 months up front of a one-year discretionary jail term for stealing several cartons of cigarettes from Jack’s Quick Stop in Hesperia.

Richard Lee Wiegand, of 362 Louisa Rd., pleaded guilty to first-degree retail fraud last October.

Wiegand testified in October that he grabbed “nine or 10” cigarette cartons and then walked out of the store in May of 2015.

The cigarettes were valued at $600, Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon said.

Judge Anthony A. Monton also sentenced Wiegand to 18 months probation. He received credit for 67 days served in jail.
