Republican picnic Saturday.

HART — Congressman Bill Huizenga (R-Zeeland) will be the speaker at the Oceana County Republican Committee’s Annual Picnic Saturday evening, June 18, at the Ochs Ranch, 3869 N. 104th Avenue.

All Republican candidates seeking election this year are invited to attend. State Senator Goeff Hansen (R-Hart) and Representative Jon Bumstead (R-Newaygo) will be attending. Candidates for State Representative will also be attending. The picnic begins at 5 p.m.

“This is a great opportunity for people to come and meet all the local and state candidates one-on-one in a casual setting,” Oceana County Republican Chairman Dr. Rudy Ochs said. “There are seven Oceana County offices that have contests. There are more local candidates running for election this year than I have seen in many years. It is going to be an exciting primary election on August 2. I encourage voters to come, meet and talk with all these candidates and enjoy the wonderful food.”

There will be a large selection of items in the silent auction during the picnic. Cost of the picnic is $25 per person at the entrance to the event. Century Club members attend for free.Children under 10 are free.

The Oceana Republicans will have a booth at the County Fair in August again this year. The July meeting of the Oceana Republicans is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at the Golden Eatery in Mears.
