PENTWATER TOWNSHIP — Two men involved in a motorcycle crash on Wayne Road south of 60th Avenue Saturday, May 28, at 7:08 a.m. suffered several broken bones, according to the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office.
Paul Wilson Prause, 33, of Muskegon was driving a 2004 Harley Sportster, and Dale Lee Prause, 55, of Muskegon, was riding as a passenger, according to the accident report.
“The passenger (Dale Prause) is still in critical condition with what I’m told is a broken arm, back, neck, leg and ribs,” said Lt. Craig Mast. “The man believed to be the driver (Paul Prause) suffered a broken neck, ribs and leg. The accident is still under investigation. Alcohol and speed are believed to have been contributing factors.”
Paul Prause failed to negotiate the corner, and his motorcycle went off the left side of the road. The bike then continued in a straight path off the roadway, until it struck a small sand berm. After plowing through the small sand berm, the motorcycle struck a large sand berm where it stopped abruptly. Paul and Dale Prause were ejected several feet.
Both men were transported to an area hospital by Oceana County EMS. Neither were wearing a helmet.
