PENTWATER — The Annual Pentwater Start of Summer Party will be held Sunday, June 5, beginning at 5 p.m. on Hancock Street in front of the Pentwater Village Hall.

The old-fashioned block party is free and open to the public. Hot dogs, chips, and soft drinks will be provided. People planning to attend are asked to bring a dish to share and are encouraged to bring folding chairs.

The popular outdoor event will be held on Hancock Street between Third and Fourth streets. That block of Hancock Street will be closed to traffic beginning at 3 p.m. and during the early evening. The Pentwater Jazz Band will perform around 5 p.m. Following the jazz band, GoodMusicDJ.com will provide music.

Volunteers from the Lighthouse Lutheran Church will cook hot dogs. Pentwater business owners donate food and money for the successful event. Starting at about 3:30 p.m., volunteers help set up picnic tables in the street. Party goers are asked to bring appetizers, salads, casseroles or desserts to share. For more information, call the village office at 869-8301.
