PENTWATER — The Pentwater Historical Society will hold its first dinner of the year at the Pentwater VFW Post, at 8440 US 31, Wednesday, May 25.
The spring dinner will offer two special features: the release of the Pentwater Historical Museum Video and guest speaker and author Sharon Bluhm.
Appetizers and drinks will begin at 5:30 p.m. At 6:10 p.m., the curtains will rise and the audience will review for the first time as a group the Pentwater Historical Museum Video. At each place setting there will be some fun facts about the museum, along with popcorn and Twizzlers for your viewing entertainment.
The video was a team effort produced and edited by Dr. Claudia Ressel-Hodan and Ron Beeber. The video is aimed at drawing more visitors to the museum, which had over 1,200 visitors last year.
Author and West Shore Community College professor, Bluhm resides in the Manierre Dawson Vacation home. Manieere was a fruit farmer for 55 years and was a pioneer abstract artist. Her book is a culmination of research, family photographs and selections from his personal journal, which she will share during her presentation.
Dinner will be served at approximately 7 p.m. and includes appetizers, shredded pork, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, Italian bread and garlic butter, along with dessert.
Lemonade and coffee will be available. Feel free to bring a beverage of your own liking. Tickets are $17.50 per person and can be obtained from Decors by Sandra, the Pentwater Township Library, Ed Bigelow 869-8631, Bill O’Donnell 869-5399 or Deb Deward 869-2230.
