HART — Ron LaPorte won 133-54 over Jason LaFever in a nonpartisan city election for mayor Tuesday, May 3.
Joe Frontiera, who was unchallenged, gained 148 votes for a seat on the city council.
LaPorte, 61, who had previously served as Hart’s mayor for two terms, succeeds Harold Schaner who did not seek re-election.
LaPorte works full time at the Pentwater Post Office and part time for Todd Greiner Farms in Hart.
“I love this city and want to see it prosper and grow with families and business, something that we can all be proud of,” LaPorte said.
