PENTWATER — A public informational meeting to discuss details and answer questions about the village’s street improvement plan being explored by local officials is set for Monday, May 16, at 7 p.m. in the Pentwater Village Hall.

An engineering study has concluded that nearly 70 percent of village streets need resurfacing, repair or reconstruction over the next five years at an estimated cost of $3.2 million.

“Our recommended plan is the best long-term approach to the problem rather than a short-sighted band aid, which would ultimately cost more,” said Councilman Norm Shotwell, who chairs the village council’s services committee.
