Police seek warrant for strangulation assault.

LEAVITT TOWNSHIP — The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is seeking an arrest warrant for a 24-year-old Walkerville man, formerly of Holton, for a felony of assault by strangulation stemming from an incident Sunday, May 1, in the 6100 block of E. Filmore Rd.

The alleged assault occurred at 4 a.m. Sunday, said Lt. Craig Mast of the sheriff’s office. Deputies were called to the residence later that morning to assist Child Protective Services, Mast said, when they were informed of the assault of an 18-year-old woman who had injuries consistent with strangulation.
