filmore rd fire - 5HART TOWNSHIP — Two mobile homes on West Filmore Road were destroyed in a fire Wednesday afternoon, April 27. No humans were injured in the blaze, but three cats died, said Hart Fire Chief Ken Klotz.

In addition to Hart Area Fire Department, Walkerville and Ferry Township fire departments assisted in battling the blaze that also destroyed two vehicles parked nearby. Oceana County EMS was called to the scene for standby.

There was some confusion initially about the fire’s location, because the address called into Central Dispatch was 666 E. Filmore Rd. in Elbridge filmore rd fire - 3Township, but the fire was actually located at 666 and 672 W. Filmore Rd. in Hart Township.

Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the residents of the rental units, Klotz said. Two adults and three children lived in one trailer, and three adults lived in the other trailer.

Both mobile homes are owned by Diane Bohunicky, fire personnel on scene said. Klotz said the trailers are insured.

The fire was dispatched shortly after 3 p.m. The cause is currently unknown.
