Pentwater selects new superintendent.

PENTWATER — The Pentwater Board of Education has offered the superintendent/principal position to Scott Karaptian. Karaptian has been the principal of Parchment High School, near Kalamazoo, since 2004. He was chosen from 43 applicants, five of whom were interviewed as finalists.

Karaptian has verbally accepted the position and the board expects to finalize a contract over the next few weeks, according to a press release.

“We are excited and enthused to be working with Mr. Karaptian,” said Linda VanGills, of the board of education. “Mr. Karaptian brings a strong educational background to the position and will be an excellent fit with the school system and community.”
