76-year-old man arrested for soliciting prostitutes.

MSPWHITE CLOUD, Newaygo County — A 76-year-old White Cloud man was arrested by Michigan State Police troopers from the Hart Post Monday, April 18, following a complaint of solicitation of prostitution, according to an MSP press release.

As a result of the investigation, Norman Leo Ochs was arrested and arraigned in the 78th District Court of Newaygo County for alleged violation of Michigan compiled laws 750.449a.

“One count involves soliciting an act of prostitution and three counts involve engaging the services of prostitutes,” the press release states. The maximum penalty for each charge is 93 days in jail and/or $500 fine, along with mandatory AIDS/STD testing.

The incidents occurred over a two-year period in the City of White Cloud.

“The criminal charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law,” the press release states.
