HART — A 29-year-old Hart woman pleaded guilty Monday, April 11, in 27th Circuit Court to embezzling $1,000-$20,000 from Shopko Hometown store.

Kimberly Ann Nicosia, of 710 E. Main St., faces a 45-day jail sentence in exchange for her guilty plea.

Nicosia, who worked as a customer service associate, testified Monday that she embezzled the money by making “fake returns.”

The maximum penalty for the offense is five years in prison.

Hart Police Chief Dan Leimback previously said Nicosia embezzled approximately $1,500 from the store.

Sentencing is set for May 23 at 9 a.m.
