SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A 33-year-old Shelby woman was arrested recently by the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office for a felony of unlawful driving away of an automobile and fourth-offense habitual offender after allegedly stealing a 2008 Chevrolet Impala from the parking lot of the Companion Animal Clinic on South Oceana Drive, March 8.

Jaqueline Grace Mansilla, also known as Jaqueline Grace Jewett, of 3059 S. Oceana Dr., was arrested March 28. The car, valued at approximately $8,000, was recovered by Muskegon police in the 300 block of East Larch Street in Muskegon, March 14, according to the police report.

The keys were left in the car’s ignition, so a local repair shop could pick up the car at the vet clinic to put new tires on it, said OCSO Lt. Craig Mast. The vehicle’s owner noticed the car was stolen and immediately contacted police. According to the police report, Mansilla lives behind the vet’s office.

A preliminary exam in 78th District Court in Hart is set for April 18 at 3 p.m. Mansilla faces up to five years in prison if convicted, as well as suspension of her driver’s license. Her bail was set at $10,000/10 percent.
