No injuries in bus vs. car crash.

OTTO TOWNSHIP — No one was injured in a school bus vs. car crash Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 4:25 p.m. at the icy intersection of East Arthur Road and South 148th Avenue, according to Oceana County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Craig Mast.

Five total occupants were on the Shelby Public Schools bus, according to the accident report.

The 2014 Bluebird bus, driven by a 65-year-old Shelby man, was southbound on 148th Avenue when it slid past the stop sign and out into the intersection where it was hit by a 2007 Ford Focus, according to the report. The Focus was driven by a 35-year-old Twin Lake man, who was the vehicle’s lone occupant.

The bus sustained damage on the driver’s side toward the rear of the bus, which was in drivable condition following the crash, according to the report.

Snow, blowing snow and an icy roadway were the conditions at the time of the crash, the report states.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
