HART — A 60-year-old White Cloud man faces up to five months in jail after pleading guilty in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Jan. 4, to third-offense domestic violence.

Charles Albert Scarbrough, of 108 North St., testified that he pushed the victim last November in Newfield Township. In exchange for his guilty plea, Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon will not pursue a strangulation charge and agrees to cap Scarbrough’s jail time at five months.

With his second-offense habitual offender designation, Scarbrough could have faced a maximum of seven years and six months in prison, said Judge Anthony A. Monton.

Sentencing is set for Feb. 23 at 9 a.m.
