Rothbury man pleads guilty in check writing scam.

HART — A 35-year-old Rothbury man pleaded guilty in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Jan. 4, to felony charges of larceny in a building; forgery; and uttering and publishing.

Anthony Werner Priese, of 9426 Oaklane Dr., testified that he stole someone’s personal checks and cashed them at the Rothbury Tavern last fall. Priese is looking at seven to 23 months of incarceration.

In exchange for his guilty plea, his fourth-offense habitual offender designation was dismissed.

Sentencing is set for Feb. 23 at 9 a.m.
