SHELBY — The village, which has been without a Department of Public Works (DPW) supervisor for over a year, announced that the position has been filled with the recent hiring of Greg Macintosh of Middleville, Michigan.

Macintosh begins duties, Jan. 4, said Village Administrator Chelsea Stratil. He will be paid a $50,000 yearly salary with benefits, said Village President Paul Inglis.

“We are very excited to welcome Greg to the Village Department of Public Works and believe he will make an excellent addition to our staff,” said Stratil, adding that he will be relocating to Shelby.

Macintosh, who has all the proper licensing required by the village, has a bachelor of liberal science degree from Eastern Michigan University, she said.

Macintosh was unanimously hired by the village council’s personnel committee last week. He has worked for DPW departments for the cities of Chelsea and Roscommon.
