Hart man arrested for cutting off tether

HART — A 23-year-old Hart man was arrested in Mecosta County after allegedly cutting off his electronic tether, Dec. 13, and he is now lodged in the Oceana County Jail facing a felony of tampering with an electronic monitoring device, according to Hart Police Chief Dan Leimback.

The suspect cut off his ankle tether in Hart and then fled to Mecosta County, where he was arrested by Mecosta County law enforcement and transported back to Oceana County by Hart police officers, the chief said.

8:50 a.m., (Michigan State Police, Hart post), a 25-year-old Ludington man was arrested on a fugitive warrant for failure to appear, Fox Road and 56th Avenue, Golden Township.
