HART — The following proceedings recently occurred in 78th District Court:

Arraignments

Felonies

– Samantha Lea Houston, 29, of 415 Hart St., Hart, was arrested Dec. 3 by the Michigan State Police (MSP) for a felony of stealing/retaining a financial transaction device without consent. Preliminary conference: Dec. 21 at 3 p.m.

– Maxwell Jame Gauss, 22, of 515 McBride, Jackson, Michigan was arrested Dec. 7 by the State, Sheriffs’, Chiefs’ Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT) for felonies of possession of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic less than 25 grams and possession of analogues. Preliminary conference: Dec. 21 at 3 p.m. Bail: $5,000/cash/surety.

Misdemeanors

– Johnny Leslie Linville, 27, of 7658 E. M 20, Hesperia; Dec. 8; Oceana County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO); driving while license suspended (DWLS). Pretrial: Jan. 5 at 4:15 p.m. Bail: $5,000/personal.

– Jason Roy Coffell, Sr., 39, of 1518 E. Wilke Rd., Rothbury; Dec. 2; OCSO; truancy. Pretrial: Jan. 5 at 10:45 a.m. Bail: $1,000/cash/surety/10 percent cash.

– James David Brant, 58, of 5302 S. 184th Ave., Hesperia; Nov. 16; OCSO; second-offense domestic violence. Pretrial: Jan. 5 at 3:45 p.m. Bail: $2,500/personal.

– Neida Velasquez, 34, of 86 Chapita Hills, Shelby; Dec. 3; Shelby Police Department (SPD); truancy. Pretrial: Jan. 5 at 11 a.m. Bail: $1,000/cash/surety/10 percent cash.

– Leodan Reyna, 24, of 5815 Buchanan Rd., Shelby; Nov. 28; MSP; operating a motor vehicle without security. Pretrial: Jan. 5 at 2:15 p.m. Bail: $5,000/personal.

– Jason Bullard, 44, of 34 Grant St., Shelby; Dec. 3; SPD; truancy. Pretrial: Jan. 5 at 10:30 a.m. Bail: $1,000/10 percent.

– Tina Lynn Woodruff, 54, of 3752 W. VanBuren Rd., Hart; Dec. 3; SPD; third-degree retail fraud. Pretrial: Jan. 5 at 4 p.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

Sentencings

– Charranjit Vishal Bachan, 24, of 718 Soundview Ave., Bronx, New York, pleaded “no contest” Dec. 7 to controlled substance – imitation advertise. He was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. One count of controlled substance – imitation manufacture or distribution was dismissed.

– Christopher Fidencio Vasquez, 26, of 623 Alice St., Whitehall, was found guilty Dec. 7 of operating a motor vehicle without security and sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs.
