HART — A 20-year-old Rothbury man was sentenced to one year in jail for a conviction of third-degree criminal sexual conduct (CSC) in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Dec. 7.

Ryanthoni Hilliard, of 9154 S. Oceana Dr., was also sentenced to five years probation; must register as a sex offender; and must have no contact with the victim. His jail credit is being reviewed.

The victim’s mother described the incident as a “heinous act. He will no longer be on the streets,” she said. “There is no reason for him to hurt anyone else like he has hurt her.”

“I hope you know how much you have hurt me,” the victim said. “It has hurt me so much. Now I do have trust issues because of him.”

The decision to enter in the agreement, which is a “downward departure” sentence, was agreed to by both sides of the case, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon. “It was the most appropriate resolution.”
