78th District Court sentencings

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Craig Alan Baron, 53, of 8617 W. Arthur Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty Nov. 30 of operating with a high blood alcohol content (BAC). He was sentenced to 180 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; $1,255 in fines and costs; and outpatient treatment. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

– Jermarko Terry Moore, 33, of 508 S. Griswold St., Hart, pleaded “no contest” Nov. 30 to disorderly person – jostling. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and a $75 fine.

– Brian M. Jensen, 53, of 2584 W. Radar Rd., Shelby, was found guilty Nov. 30 of a misdemeanor of fleeing and eluding a police officer. He was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $510 in fines and costs. One count of second-offense driving while license suspended (DWLS) was dismissed.

– Daniel Mark Flinn, 59, of 9075 Ottawattamie Tr., Shelby, was found guilty Nov. 30 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; $1,040 in fines and costs; and outpatient treatment. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated and one count of transporting intoxicants were dismissed.

– Alfredo Martinez Escamilla, 53, of 7761 W. Deer Rd., Mears, was found guilty Nov. 30 of operating while intoxicated. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; $1,205 in fines and costs; and outpatient treatment. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating with a high BAC and one count of transporting open intoxicants were dismissed.

– Jacob Mathew Ustick, 23, of 5030 N. 88th Ave., Hart, was found guilty Nov. 30 of operating while intoxicated. He was sentenced to nine days in jail; 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; six months probation; outpatient treatment; not to purchase/possess a firearm; subject to counseling, searches and testing required by probation officer; no alcohol/drugs; and $1,680 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of second-offense operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

– Shana Michelle Harper-Whitlow, 38, of 3201 S. 56th Ave., Shelby, was found guilty Nov. 24 of trespassing and sentenced to 30 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $250 in fines and costs. One count of assault and battery was dismissed.

– Jordan Michael Welsh, 20, of 23 S. Elm St., Hesperia, was found guilty Nov. 30 of possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; driver’s license suspended 180 days/restricted after 30 days; six months probation; $525 in fines and costs; may not purchase/possess a firearm; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to testing, counseling and searches required by probation officer.

– Justin Everett Harmon, 22, of 206 Pine St., Shelby, was found guilty March 23 of domestic violence. He received an amended sentence Nov. 24 of three months probation and must serve the balance of discretionary jail for violating probation. In a separate file, he was found guilty Nov. 9 of second-offense domestic violence. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail; one year discretionary jail for one year; and a $75 fine. Both files run concurrently.

– Brandon Salazar, 18, of 5582 S. Oceana Dr., Apt. 4, New Era, was found guilty Nov. 23 of possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; outpatient treatment; six months probation; and $684 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Lloyd Duane Smith, 52, of 5239 S. 136th Ave., Rothbury, was found guilty Nov. 24 of transporting open intoxicants. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $250 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Jayson Alexander Grundel, 24, of 8467 E. Loop Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty Nov. 23 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; $1,055 in fines and costs; and must complete a substance abuse evaluation. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated and one count of transporting open intoxicants were dismissed.

– Daniel Salgado, 28, of 2880 W. Polk Rd., Hart, was found guilty Nov. 9 of illegal entry. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $450 in fines and costs. He was also found guilty Nov. 9 of assault and battery and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; six months probation; $700 in fines and costs; and may not return to the address where the offense occurred.
