Driver loses control on ice, SUV rolls over

OCSO cruiserCOLFAX TOWNSHIP — A 40-year-old Walkerville woman received minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash on East Madison Road near North 168th Avenue Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 5:45 a.m., according to the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman told police that she was eastbound on her way to work and hit a patch of ice and lost control of the 2003 Ford Expedition she was driving, the accident report states. “She stated after she left the roadway, the vehicle rolled over and came to rest against a tree,” the report states. “The driver stated her chest and leg were hurting after the accident.”

The woman was transported by ambulance to an area hospital. She was wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.
