LEAVITT TOWNSHIP — A mobile home was completely destroyed in fire at 5588 E. Harrison Road Wednesday, Nov. 25, at approximately 4 p.m.

No one was injured in the blaze, said Walkerville Assistant Fire Chief Al Purdy. The fire appeared to start in an attached garage, Purdy said. “We knocked the fire down pretty quickly,” he said. The home is located next to the cemetery near Walkerville.

Purdy did not immediately have information regarding who owns the home or if the home was insured. Red Cross was being sent to the scene to assist the fire victims, he said.

Assisting Walkerville Fire Department were Ferry Township and Crystal Township fire departments, and Oceana County EMS also responded.
