HART — A 26-year-old Fruitport man could serve up to six months in jail after pleading guilty Monday, Nov. 23, in 27th Circuit Court to driving while license suspended (DWLS) causing injury.

In exchange for Eli James Obradovich’s guilty plea, one count of operating under the influence causing an incapacitating injury was dismissed. His jail time will be capped at six months.

Obradovich testified Monday that a passenger in the vehicle he was operating received a broken leg, Aug. 29, after Obradovich veered off road and went in the ditch on 200th Avenue in Greenwood Township.

Sentencing is set for Jan. 4 at 9 a.m.
