HART — Hart High School student council officers delivered turkey baskets to needy families in the community Friday, Nov. 20.

The baskets included a large turkey, potatoes, a gallon of milk, a loaf of bread, a pumpkin pie, a cherry pie, and many canned goods.

HHS students collected over 600 canned goods for distribution.

Meijer of Ludington and Hansen Foods of Hart provided support for this project.

“Delivering these baskets makes you realize how we should be thankful for what we have instead of complaining about the things we don’t,” Lopez said. “It puts everything into a different perspective and just shows how people were really grateful for what we did. I’m glad I got to be a part of this event for the second year in a row. It definitely makes you feel good and it makes it a very rewarding day. It’s a win-win.”
