Muskegon man sentenced for giving police fake name

HART — Antonio Breyan Sheppard, 29, of 2600 9th St., Muskegon, was found guilty in 27th Circuit Court Sept. 28 of lying to a peace officer and sentenced Nov. 9 to serve four days up front of a one-year discretionary jail sentence with credit for four days served; two years probation; and $500 in fines and costs. One count of identity theft was dismissed.

Sheppard testified Sept. 28 that he made a false statement when he told an Oceana County Sheriff’s deputy that his name was Jeffrey Miller.
