Hesperia woman dies following crash

NEWFIELD TOWNSHIP — A 55-year-old Hesperia woman died following a single-vehicle crash on East Loop Road near Riverview Drive Tuesday, Nov. 17, shortly after 6 p.m., according to the Hart post of the Michigan State Police.

“Troopers arrived on scene and determined that a station wagon with one occupant had driven off Loop Road and struck a utility pole,” according to an MSP press release.

The woman, who was driving the vehicle, was taken to Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial in Fremont via PRO-MED Professional Med Team. She was pronounced dead at the hospital, and the cause of death remains under investigation, according to MSP.

Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the crash, according to MSP.

The crash remains under investigation. Troopers were also assisted by the Hesperia Area Fire Department.
