78th District Court arraignments include police assault, poaching

HART — The following were arraigned recently in front of the 78th District Court Magistrate:

Felonies
– Brett Anthony Peoples, 24, of 109 Pine St., Shelby, was arrested Oct. 29 by the the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) for felonies of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer causing injury; assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer (two counts); and fourth-offense habitual offender. Preliminary conference: Nov. 23 at 3 p.m. Bail: $25,000/cash.

Misdemeanors

– John Russell Richter, 41, of 8591 Robinhood Dr., Montague, was arrested Nov. 9 by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for four misdemeanor counts of illegal taking deer/bear/turkeys. Pretrial: Dec. 15 at 3:45 p.m. Bail: $10,000/cash/surety/10 percent.

– Paul Michael Oomen, 54, of 2480 E. Hammett Rd. Hart, was arrested by the DNR for four misdemeanor counts of illegal taking deer/bear/turkeys — allowing hunters on his property to harvest deer during a closed season. Pretrial: Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. Bail: $5,000/cash/surety/10 percent.

– Jamie Jo Richter, 33, of 8591 Robinhood Dr., Montague, was arrested Nov. 9 by the DNR for a misdemeanor of illegal taking deer/bear/turkeys. Pretrial: Dec. 15 at 3:30 p.m. Bail: $10,000/cash/surety/10 percent.

– Catalina Hernandez, 34, of 3241 N. 72nd Ave., Hart, was arrested Nov. 1 by OCSO for a misdemeanor of operating while intoxicated. Pretrial: Dec. 30 at 2:45 p.m. Bail: $3,500/cash/surety/10 percent.

– Amy Jo Spring, 31, of 11438 Apple Dr. Nunica, was arrested Nov. 1 by OCSO for a misdemeanor of operating while intoxicated. Pretrial: Dec. 30 at 3:30 p.m. Bail: $5,000/cash/surety/10 percent cash.

– Eric Michael Joslin, 22, of 5001 Jay Rd., Whitehall, was arrested Nov. 1 by OCSO for misdemeanors of second-offense operating while intoxicated and driving while license suspended (DWLS). Pretrial: Dec. 30 at 3 p.m. Bail: $5,000/cash/surety/10 percent.

– Juan Antonio Regalado, 19, of 180 W. Main St., Hart, was cited Oct. 26 by the Shelby Police Department (SPD) for a misdemeanor of driving while license not valid/improper license. Pretrial: Nov. 17 at 10:30 a.m. Bail: $1,500/personal.

– Dawn Nicole Hammersley, 39, of 7462 S. 64th Ave., Montague, was arrested Nov. 1 by OCSO for a misdemeanor of operating while intoxicated. Pretrial: Dec. 30 at 2:30 p.m. Bail: $3,500/cash/surety/10 percent.

– Robert James VanSickle, 34, of 9336 Besser Ct., Montague, was arrested Oct. 31 by the Michigan State Police (MSP) for a misdemeanor of operating while intoxicated. Pretrial: Dec. 30 at 3:15 p.m. Bail: $3,500/cash/surety/10 percent.

– Dale Michael Wakefield, 22, of 88 Hoskins St., Hesperia, was cited Oct. 24 by OCSO for misdemeanors of DWLS and operating without insurance. Pretrial: Dec. 15 at 3 p.m. Bail: $2,500/personal.

– David Paul Start, 35, of 3336 Heights Ravenna Rd., Muskegon, was cited Nov. 1 by OCSO for a misdemeanor of possession o marijuana. Pretrial: Dec. 15 at 2:45 p.m. Bail: $2,500/personal.

– Juan Santano Cano, 43, of 8050 Cook St., Montague, was arrested Oct. 24 by MSP for a misdemeanor of operating without security. Pretrial: Dec. 1 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $1,500/personal.
