Shelby Village Clerk Julie Schultz announced in an email message issued shortly before noon Sunday, Nov. 15, the alert has been lifted and the water is safe to drink.

The village issued a boil water alert Thursday due to the water system testing positive for coliform bacteria. No illnesses were reported, according to Village Administrator Chelsea Stratil.

As a precautionary measure, the village requested that those who are serviced by the Shelby water distribution system, to not drink the water without boiling it first.
