HART — A suspect has been identified in a trespassing, assault and property destruction case after the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office released a video to area media organizations that went viral on social media.

“As soon as you released this story, I started hearing from your readers,” Lt. Craig Mast told OCP. “I had several calls within about 15 minutes of you posting this, and they all gave the same name.” Police are not releasing the suspect’s name right now, but indicated that they plan to interview him Thursday, Nov. 12.

The sheriff’s office was called to the 7600 block of South 108th Avenue in Grant Township Thursday, Nov. 5, just after 4:30 p.m. Most of the incident was captured on video by the property owner’s cell phone. It appears in the video that the suspect runs over the victim with his quad.

On OCP’s Facebook page, the story and video were shared 245 times.
