Asphalt chunk thrown through car window; several items stolen

OCSO cruiserNEW ERA — A resident heard a car alarm activate at 3 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, in the 4600 block of Third Street, according to the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office. When the car was checked on later that morning, it was discovered that a piece of asphalt had been thrown through the driver’s side window and several items were stolen.

Items taken include a Xenith football helmet, a wallet, a Columbia jacket, a pair of Nike shoes and a tote bag. Information regarding the contents of the bag and the wallet are currently unavailable.
