ELBRIDGE TWP. — A 28-year-old woman was arrested by the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office after she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend’s wife with a handgun and a vehicle Sunday, Nov. 1, at 11:25 a.m. in the 3900 block of East Hazel Road, according to Lt. Craig Mast.

The woman came to the home to confront her boyfriend and his wife, Mast said. She brought a handgun that is owned by the boyfriend and began pointing it at his wife, he said. She then allegedly used her vehicle to to try to pin the wife against the house, breaking a sliding glass door and tearing up the lawn. The wife was not injured, he said.

The suspect is lodged in the Oceana County Jail, Mast said, and a warrant likely charging her with felonious assault is being processed. Her name will not be released by police until she has been arraigned.

OCSO had a busy weekend, Mast said, with five drunk driving arrests; an unlawful entry and assault incident in the 5800 block of Fifth Street in Mears Saturday, Oct. 31, at 5:50 a.m.; and several car-deer crashes, including a deer that crashed through the windshield of an ambulance at Monroe Road and 72nd Avenue in Weare Township Saturday night, Oct. 31, when it was traveling in a non-emergency capacity.
