78th District Court sentencings

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Lawrence Lee Byard, 56, of 13260 Golden Circle, Fenton, Mich., was found guilty Oct. 26 of careless operation. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; court suspended right to operate vessel for six months; and $400 in fines and costs. One count of marine safety – operating under the influence of liquor (OUIL) was dismissed.

– Dayne Austin Ackerberg, 19, of 7735 S. Maple Island Rd., Fremont, was found guilty Sept. 28 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced Oct. 26 to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; outpatient treatment; and $1,105 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of fourth-degree fleeing and eluding a police officer and one count of operating while intoxicated were dismissed.

– Richard Lewis Booher, 45, of 6475 W. M-20, Hesperia, was found guilty Oct. 26 of disorderly person – drunk. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $450 in fines and costs. One count of assault and battery was dismissed.

– Donald Edward Slocum, 58, of 4284 1025th Ave., Allegan, pleaded “no contest” to malicious telecommunications services. He was sentenced to six months discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Another count of malicious telecommunications services and one count of stalking were dismissed.

– Angelique Jean Berdinka, 34, of 3509 W. Webster Rd., Montague, was found guilty Oct. 26 of driving while license suspended (DWLS). She was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Cadenn Douglas Lorenz, 23, of 3872 W. Melody Lane, Hart, was found guilty Oct. 26 of disorderly person – drunk. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs.

– Jessica Erin O’Leary, 25, of 4258 Polk Rd., Hart, was found guilty Oct. 26 of operating a motor vehicle without security/no insurance and sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $200 in fines and costs.

– Cody Clinton McMann, 25, of 5024 N. Wayne Rd., Pentwater, was found guilty Oct. 26 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; Alcohol Highway Safety Education; and $1,040 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.
