HART — A 23-year-old Hesperia man pleaded guilty in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Oct. 26, to assaulting/resisting police.

In exchange for Daniel Eugene Ackerberg’s plea, one count of assault by strangulation and one count of fourth-degree child abuse were dismissed. The victim in the case is in agreement of plea deal, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon.

Assaulting/resisting police carries a two-year maximum sentence.

Ackerberg resisted arrest last August by a Michigan State Police trooper, who was called to a residence as a result of a domestic dispute, according to testimony.

Sentencing is set for Dec. 7 at 9 a.m.
