FREMONT — Criminal defense attorneys Gary K. Springstead and Michael R. Bartish have been deemed “Super Lawyers” for criminal law by Super Lawyer magazine.

Less than five percent of attorneys in the state earn this prestigious designation, and only four other criminal defense attorneys in Grand Rapids were rated Super Lawyers for criminal law in 2015.

“We are really honored by this award,” said Springstead. “I think the fact that we have received this award two years in a row is a reflection of our decision to focus almost exclusively on criminal defense, which allows us to really develop an expertise in criminal law and, consequently, help our clients get the best results possible. When a client’s reputation, freedom or job is on the line due to a criminal charge or investigation, we find that they want an attorney that specializes in criminal law.”

All of the attorneys at Springstead Bartish & Borgula Law are rated 10.0 by Avvo.com, and attorney Kathy Springstead received an award for being among the Top 100 Lawyers for criminal law in Michigan.

Springstead and Bartish recently expanded both their Fremont and Grand Rapids office spaces, and added a new Partner, Matt Borgula, to help with their growing criminal defense practice. Prior to joining Springstead Bartish & Borgula Law, P.L.L.C., Borgula was a federal prosecutor in Grand Rapids for 12 1⁄2 years and, most recently, the deputy chief of the criminal division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
