27th Circuit Court sentencings

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 27th Circuit Court:

Aaron Eugene Nordstrom, 22, of 137 34th St., Wyoming, Mich., was found guilty July 21, 2014 of second-degree home invasion, and his Holmes Youthful Trainee Act (HYTA) status was revoked Sept. 28. He was sentenced to serve five months forthwith of a one-year discretionary jail sentence with credit for 82 days served and $158 in fines and costs. His financial assessments originally imposed Sept. 2, 2014 are continued. A second count of second-degree home invasion was dismissed, July 21, 2014.

Simon Gabriel Saldana, 23, of 6415 E. Garfield Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty Aug.

4 of assault with a weapon. He was sentenced Sept. 28 to serve six months forthwith of a one-year discretionary jail sentence with credit for 83 days served in jail; two years probation; and $500 in fines and costs. One count of possession of marijuana and one count of domestic violence were dismissed. Related story here

James William Sydnor, Jr., 49, of 2209 Riordon St., Muskegon Heights, was found guilty Aug. 4 of controlled substance – delivery less than 50 grams. He was sentenced Sept. 28 to serve eight months forthwith of a one-year discretionary jail sentence with credit for 145 days served in jail; two years probation; $258 in fines and costs; and driver’s license suspended one year/restricted after 60 days. One count of controlled substance possession less than 25 grams was dismissed. Related story here
