Man faces 4 drug charges stemming from SSCENT investigation

SSCENTNEW ERA — A 24-year-old New Era man was arrested at his home Monday, Sept. 14, by the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office on a three-count felony warrant on charges of delivery of cocaine, MDMA (ecstasy) and marijuana.

Jarred James Conkle was lodged in the Oceana County Jail and arraigned in 78th District Court. His bond was set at $5,000/10 percent. After posting bond, Conkle was transferred to Kent County Jail in Grand Rapids, where he was arraigned on an additional charge of delivery of MDMA. His bond was set at $10,000 cash.

The four charges are a result of an investigation conducted by detectives from the State, Sheriffs’, Chiefs’ Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT) that started in the fall of 2014. The most serious charge is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and/or a $250,000 fine.
