78th District Court sentencings

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Neal Alexander Wroble, 26, of 21 W. Dewey Rd., Scottville, was found guilty Aug. 24 of controlled substance use – narcotic or cocaine. He was sentenced to 64 days in jail with credit for 64 days served; one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; three months probation; no alcohol/drugs; subject to searches, counseling and testing as required by his probation officer; and $550 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of controlled substance – possession of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic less than 25 grams – was dismissed.

– Javier Santiz-Collazo, 32, of 6256 N. 144th Ave., Walkerville, was found guilty Aug. 24 of disorderly person – jostling. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. One count of domestic violence dismissed.

– Roger Lewis Simkins, 70, of 1001 N. 104th Ave. Hart, was found guilty Aug. 24 of lying to a police officer. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs.

– Edward James Riley, 33, of 2372 N. Cleveland Rd., New Era, was found guilty Aug. 24 of attempted failure to comply to with sex offender registration. He was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $250 in fines and costs.

– Joseph Wayne Redmon, Sr., 36, of 4826 S. 164th Ave., Hesperia, pleaded no contest Aug. 24 to reckless driving. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Restitution is open for 90 days. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of assault with a dangerous weapon was dismissed.

– Elizabeth Tejada, 27, of 571 N. Spencer Rd., Shelby, was found guilty Aug. 24 of operating while impaired. She was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; $1,105 in fines and costs; and Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE). Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated dismissed.

– Calvin Michael Chase, 18, of 6168 E. Monroe Rd., Walkerville, was found guilty Aug. 24 of larceny less than $200. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $150 in fines and costs. One count of breaking and entering with intent was dismissed.

– David Forrest Farrin, 56, of 463 N. Stiles Rd., Ludington, was found guilty Aug. 25 of operating while intoxicated. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; $1,155 in fines and costs; and must complete substance abuse evaluation recommendation. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating with a high blood alcohol content (BAC) dismissed.

– Michael George Lindgren, 67, of 7355 N. Oceana Dr., Hart, was found guilty Aug. 24 of weapons – possession/sale of switchblade. He was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; switchblade to be forfeited; and $250 in fines and costs. One count of carrying a concealed weapon dismissed. He was also found guilty Aug. 24 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; $1,075 in fines and costs; must complete substance abuse evaluation recommendation. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated dismissed.

– Amanda Dawn Mecham, 28, of 7 Rankin St., Shelby, was found guilty Aug. 25 of operating while intoxicated. She was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; $1,155 in fines and costs; and outpatient treatment. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating with a high BAC was dismissed.

– Scott Phillip Adams, 52, of 2976 Grantsyn Trail, Branch, was found guilty Aug. 24 of operating while intoxicated. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; AHSE; and $1,155 in fines, costs and restitution. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Kristopher Lee Prim, 21, of 1895 W. Warren Rd., Shelby, was found guilty Aug. 24 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; AHSE; and $1,040 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.
