HART — Just in time for the first day of school Sept. 8, construction that has been going on all summer near the Hart Public Schools campus on Johnson Street is expected to be completed Sept. 4, according to Hart City Manager Stan Rickard.

“Due to the added work scope of the official project, the completion date has been extended to Sept. 4. However, the city, contractor and engineers are confident the final paving and striping will be completed by Sept. 4,” Rickard states in a weekly newsletter about the project.

“The paving crew will place the leveling course of asphalt on Aug. 25,” Rickard states. “With a hard working surface in place, Hallack Contracting will begin the restoration process. The electrical contractor will install street lights upon their arrival — date to be determined. City electric will also begin pulling wire into conduits placed earlier in the project.

Citizens are encouraged to contact city hall at 873-2488 if they have questions or concerns about the project.
