HART — Do you have diabetes? Or do you care for someone who has diabetes or other chronic issues? Sign up for the Stanford University class, Diabetes Self-Management, taught by Karen MacWilliams, an RN at Mercy Lakeshore Medical, and learn how to live well with ongoing health conditions.
This free course will be at the Oceana County Council on Aging (OCCOA) in Hart, for six weeks, on Tuesdays from 5:30-8:30 p.m., Sept. 15 through Oct. 20. A diabetic-friendly supper is included each week for free.
You will learn how to work with your doctor; how to manage your symptoms; how to set and achieve realistic goals; new ways of problem solving; communication skills; and relaxation techniques.
